Kannur: The district collector on Friday imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in Thalassery considering the chances of clashes between various religious groups. Earlier, Sangh Parivar outfits announced that they will hold a protest rally in Thalassery on Friday. In wake of this, Kannur District Collector S Chandrasekhar issued the prohibitory orders banning unlawful assembly, travelling with weapons, chanting provocative slogans, any kind of demonstration and gathering within the limits of Thalassery police station till December 6.
