Kochi: The Attingal Pink Police officer Rajitha apologised unconditionally in the Kerala High Court for publicly humiliating the eight-year-old girl and her father.
Thiruvananthapuram: With the spike in number of speed violation cases, the Motor Vehicle Department collected a fine of Rs 3.37 crores through the automated enforcement camera mechanism in November. Notably, the fine was collected from cases registered in 80 RTO offices in the state.
Palakkad: 25.78 lakh persons from Kerala have registered in the e-SHRAM portal of workers in the unorganised sector. The workers within the age limit of 18 to 59 submitted the Aadhaar-based information in the portal within a month of its functioning. Kerala stands in the 11th position in the number of people registered in the portal.
Munnar: Edamalakkudy, Kerala’s first tribal panchayat, now has a well. Water has been spotted in the well dug in the remote hamlet inside Idamalayar Reserve Forest and Mankulam Forest Division of the state.
Alappuzha: The National Health Mission has expressed concern over the increase in Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Kerala. As per the reports of NHM, out of 1 lakh deliveries, 66 maternal deaths are reported in the state. Interestingly, Maternal Mortality Rate has gone up in Kerala two years after the state was declared having the lowest Maternal Mortality Rate. NHM released the reports based on the statistics from April to November 2021.
Chemmad: A man died after he was attacked by a hive of bees at Chemmad in Kozhikode here on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Yacob (62). He was severely stung by bees after the hive was damaged by an eagle causing bees to attack the passerby.

KOCHI: A woman, who was constantly harassed by a neighbour, and her teenage son died of burns under suspicious circumstances at Nayarambalam in Vypeen island in Ernakulam district on Sunday.The deceased have been identified as Sindhu (42), wife of late Saju, and her son Atul (17).
BUENOS AIRES: Two newborns in Brazil were given coronavirus vaccine shots by mistake and had to be hospitalized, Brazilian media report.A two-month-old girl and a four-month-old boy were each given a Pfizer shot against COVID-19 instead of a combination immunizing agent against diphtheria, tetanus (lockjaw), pertussis (whooping cough), and hepatitis B, the Uol media outlet said on Sunday.
